IMDb not showing on Google Search any more?

IMDb used to always show in this little section when I searched google. It's not there any more. Was this Google's decision? Or IMDb's?

It also seems like IMDb isn't showing up in the first page of search results on google any more. How come?

@TrevX  Thanks for the problem report.  It turns out this is due to an accidental misconfiguartion on IMDb's side which we have now resolved, sorry.  IMDb should start to reappear in Google search results when the Google webcrawler reindexes our pages (we have submitted an expedited request for this).

@Col_Needham Thanks for that info, Col, I was about to ask the same question.

I'm still having this problem with a client's IMDb page and IMDb keeps replying "we are not able to submit individual pages to Google or to any other search engine at this time. In addition, we have no control over how they appear or are ranked in their results." It doesn't make sense that her IMDb page stopped appearing on Google searches.

I don't know the answer to this, but I will say that Google Search is the Web search engine of last resort for me. While it could be that IMDb is the cause of the situation, Google is responsible for making sure that its search engine keeps up with the changes of format/API that indexed pages from millions of websites undergo.

@jeorj_euler Google has started censoring IMDB for some reason and it's pretty cringe...you have to actually look up a movie or tv show while including 'IMDB' for it to show up...pathetic

Several search engines give special consideration to Wikipedia or IMDb, in regards to movies and television shows; and likewise Oxford English dictionary or Merriam-Webster dictionary for definitions. Maybe the mechanism has glitched out. Censoring a website like IMDb is very uncharacteristic of Google, and there is no publicly-conceivable motive for it.

Just to confirm this is not anything on our side.  Google control the rankings on their site and IMDb is compliant with SEO best practices. We will see what we can find our here.

@Col_Needham I have the same problem I think it started yesterday.

If you look up a movie, it doesn't show any results on Google, not even the second or 3th page
