IMDb Glossary

Is there a modernized substitute for the missing http://www.imdb.com/glossary/? If so, where is it?

The Wayback Machine has old versions of the pages. I don't know if you can get to N-Z, but I got A-M by starting here (and it changes the saved date for each letter, so I'm trusting the rest are there):

(I know that wasn't your question, but you might have been looking for something specific.)

Thanks for that which will suffice in terms of alternative, and I'll have to assume that by this topic being tagged as "answered" that there is no formal (and editable) substitute.

I would assume the "answered" tag is a result of anyone having replied. Which would be silly, of course (a reply might be a second question, or a bad reply), but I have low expectations for GS.

A post shows up as answered when an administrator actively marks it as answered.

Jeorj: The best thing to do would be to start this thread anew as an Idea instead of a Question, recommending that the IMDb Glossary be brought back.

Sure, although I think I might prefer if somebody else who happens to like the idea of an IMDb Glossary being available to create such a GS topic. The good ideas cannot all come from me :P

I was not even aware that Glossary went missing. That is sad, it was very educating...

I have a saved .txt version somewhere, by the way. made it for offline purposes a while ago.

We desperately need an IMDb glossary! There are too many honest, hard-working contributors who just don't know or are confused about the meanings of various show business terms!

I also would like to see the Glossary return!

As an alternative, perhaps IMDb would consent to someone publishing a copy of the old glossary on another site, perhaps as a wiki which could be updated.

It would be nice if a staffer could respond to this thread.

Staff don't usually comment on Ideas. I believe they changed it to that category, which might count as a response.

Which is a pity. I would like to know how they feel about it. And it might, in some cases, give us a bit of an idea where it is on the roadmap (if it's on the roadmap that is, of course).

Well, thanks for the bump.
