IMDb account at risk due to Amazon account block. Escalation attempts unsuccessful

Hello everyone,

I'm writing here because I'm in a difficult situation and I'm really worried about losing access to my IMDb account.

My IMDb account is linked to an Amazon account that has recently been blocked due to an account verification issue.

I have already submitted all requested documents to Amazon multiple times:

  • My valid passport
  • A rental agreement for my current residence (It can not be dated for last 60 days because it's long term agreement signed a year ago)
  • A bank statement confirming tax payments for the last month
  • Purchase receipts issued to my residential address
  • A document confirming my status as a private entrepreneur
  • A bank statement that includes my residential address
  • An invoice for the last month for company I work for
  • A verification letter from the company I work for
  • A utility bill for my current address

but the verification process is still ongoing and there is no clear resolution. I simply receive a response without any explanation as to why my documents are not suitable, and they ask me to send new ones. And so it goes round and round for two weeks.

I have called Amazon customer support three times regarding this issue and explicitly asked for my case to be escalated for manual review. Unfortunately, despite these escalation requests, the problem has not been resolved yet and I have not received a clear answer on how to protect my IMDb account while Amazon verification is pending.

Important point:

My main concern is not the Amazon account itself.

What really matters to me is keeping my current IMDb account, which I've been using for years and which contains important information and history (for over 10 years).

My questions:

Is there a way to preserve or recover an IMDb account independently of an Amazon account? I do not want it to be linked to Amazon account.

Can IMDb support manually relink my IMDb profile to another Amazon account or protect it while Amazon resolves their verification?

Has anyone here experienced a similar issue, and how was it resolved?

Please help.

Thank you very much in advance for any advice or help.

@Jon Hello

Thank you for your reply and for the recommendation.

I would like to clarify that I have already contacted customer service team (that link), and I have been in ongoing communication with them for almost two weeks now.

The issue is that the IMDb login problem appears to be handled by the same Amazon support team, and unfortunately this communication has not led to any resolution so far.

The only response I consistently receive is an automated email instructing me to log in to my Amazon account and complete certain actions.

However, my Amazon account is already blocked, and it is impossible to perform any actions other than seeing a message stating that the account is blocked.

This creates a very confusing situation where the support team recommends steps that are technically impossible to complete.

There also seems to be a clear lack of synchronization between the verification process and customer support instructions.

I have tried calling support multiple times, but phone calls result only in template responses:

contact customer service team

submit your documents

log in to the account and follow the instructions in the email

Unfortunately, none of these steps can move the case forward due to the blocked status of the account.

There also seems to be no way to speak with a representative who can fully understand and manually review this situation. And I do not see any way to escalate.

My main concern remains preserving access to my IMDb account, and I am hoping for guidance or escalation that goes beyond automated replies and instructions that cannot be followed.

Thank you for your time and understanding.
