How to use IMDb?

How do I use IMDb? I can't figure it out, even though I've tried many times and used many similar sites.

If I watched a season of a TV show and then stopped watching it, what should I do with it? I made a drop list, but it didn't solve the problem. How do I know how many episodes I've watched? Should I mark each episode separately? That would be a complete mess with a bunch of episodes from each show.

As I understand it, you have to add everything to the watchlist, and then you have to rate it to make it disappear. And what if I don't want to give it a rating, I don't remember anything about that movie/series anymore?

And what exactly does watchlist mean? Is it what I'm watching now or what I'm going to watch? I transfer my library, it takes a lot of time, and the easiest way to add something is to click add to watchlist. So it turns out that I need to sort everything into lists again?

I've already written to support, but I still don't understand the point. They just said that I can make lists for what I need, but I still don't understand how it works. And neither on YouTube nor on the Internet have I found an answer on how to use this site, there is nothing at all. It's all about how to create an account, add something to your watchlist, or some other account features.

Implode: I can't answer all your questions, because I don't use all of the features.

However, I can tell you that the "watchlist" has no particular meaning. It could include films you have watched, or want to watch, or whatever. I have only two films on my watchlist, one of which has been lost and not seen by anyone for over 70 years.

Just yesterday I searched here and found the official guide, and there was an answer to the question about the "watchlist", but there were no answers to other questions. Can you tell us how you use it yourself? I will write below how I use it now, can you tell me how to improve this system?  I would be very grateful.

I add everything to a "watchlist" because it's the fastest way to do it, and then I sort it into lists. If I've seen it recently or remember it well, I give it a rating, and ideally, it would be nice to sort everything like that. If I watched a series but stopped watching it, I put it in the "dropped" category. I also made a list of "watched" movies and TV shows that have ended or I don't know if there will be a sequel (perhaps I should add only those that have definitely ended officially). There's also a "check-ins" list, but I don't understand what it's for.

And what happens to the series? For example, a season has been released, I watched it and put it in the list of watched, for example. When a new season comes out, will I get some kind of notification about it? Other sites have such functionality. If not, I will only know if it was a popular series and everyone starts talking about it. And is there a calendar of new episodes?

Thank you.
