How do you find user created lists?
They don't appear in search and there doesn't seem to be an option in Advanced Search. I know I can search the title on Google but is there no way to find these on site?

nope.
external search engine is the way to go.
I use the google feature of specifying
site:imdb.com/list

You can't research lists, but you can find a list of the lists related to a certain celebrity or title.
Examples:
Lists Related to Martin Scorsese - IMDb
Lists Related to Code inconnu: Récit incomplet de divers voyages - IMDb
