Dear imdb,

This website is really cool, but I really miss a group movie recommendation feature. It would be amazing to be able to add friends (or even create groups of three people and more), and then see two different sections, one showing which movies both people (or all people in a group) have in their watchlist, and one showing movies both people (or the whole group) haven't seen but should enjoy watching together.

Since the watchlists already do exist, the first features should be super easy to create, and the second one would probably be based on the same algorithm as the individual recommendation... And it would be so helpful to have this feature on this website, instead of using other apps and tools. :)

Please IMDB, this feature!

This is the #1 missing feature from IMDb. To my mind, the home page should be focused on social. This would give many friends, family members, etc. an incentive to join the site. I always ask if friends use Goodreads—its popularity seems to have spread by word-of-mouth. 

It would clearly give a boost to votes on titles and more ad revenue for IMDb. They'd be crazy not to implement this before someone else does it better!

4 years, and still nothing?!? Was recommended to visit this page by the IMDB app update. Do they actually read the ideas?

Why hasn't this happened yet? Watching movies is most often a social activity. Come on, IMDB! Please implement this in the web page and the apps.

Whenever my friends and I are looking for movies to watch together, we spend ages trying to find a flick which none of us have seen. If only we could compare ratings and watchlists it would make life so much easier :)

It would be amazing if we can follow or add as a friend other IMDb users and see what they are watching and voting. Like Goodreads. It would really great.

Goodreads is the literary equivalent of IMDb. On Goodreads, you can follow and friend other account holders. It is an obvious assertion, but I am to make it nevertheless; you should be able to friend and follow users on IMDb. Wouldn't this create a more interesting, interactive and enlarged community of IMDbers?

I've been a long time member of IMDB and a huge fan of the site since its beginnings. I think IMDB has revolutionized fan access to the film and tv industry, and I thank them for all that you do.

That being said, I feel as though since the site made the decision to remove message boards, the communal aspect of IMDB has suffered a bit. I understand their rationale for doing so at the time. But, have they considered the possibility of setting up a more personal profile interface for users?

I'm specifically thinking of the "Goodreads" model - which, if you haven't seen it, is a great way for fans of books to post what they're reading, the progress they're making, and commentary on the movies/TV shows others watching. An individual's "friends" can then like their updates, make comments, etc., and the site has a "newsfeed" similar to the way Facebook does things.

Just thought I'd submit it as an idea for the future of the site.

When I find someone who's written a great review, I'd like to add that person to a list of people whose reviews I like.  Then, I would like to be able to do at least one of these things:

• View that list
• Be notified of new reviews by that user
• Have user reviews of movies sorted so that reviews by people on my list appear first

Allow members to add "friends" so they can go to their profile and check what they've rated certain movies. Allow us to send recommendations to friends.

IMDb should have a friend system.  You would be able to check your friend's scores and reccomend films.
