Downloading my data

2014 was the year I became really interested in film. I started paying attention to movies that received Oscar nominations, new and old, as well as any outliers that found their way onto the Top 250. It helped that around the same time, my local library finally added blu-rays of countless films into their catalogue, both of new releases and classics like Casablanca. Since I had an IMDb account in 2014, I'd rate the movies on the site right after watching them (IMDb would add the date I rated each film on as well). It goes without saying that over the years, some of these ratings have changed and no longer reflect the date that I initially saw the films on.

In 2015, I started logging the films I watched in list format. I've been doing it ever since. This helped me keep track of the calendar dates that I saw each film on. At the time, I wish I had done the same thing in the previous year but it was too late. While I could remember the dates I saw some movies on (such as Opening Day - May 2 - for The Amazing Spider-Man 2), other dates were more foggy for other movies (almost anything I checked out from the library). Since 2015, I've looked at the very few film ratings that have remained unchanged since 2014, as well as other resources such as my checkout records at the library (that is, the records of items that haven't gone missing), but it doesn't leave me with much. Especially when the checkout records don't list if the items were ever renewed or when they were eventually checked back in.

I was wondering if there's a way for me to download my data on this site, so that I can dig through my activity over the years. Is there a way for me to find out how many times I've rerated a film and find out when I first started rating it (in other words, find out the first time I watched it)? It would help me a great amount in completing my retroactive 2014 log (which will most likely remain incomplete if I'm unable to download my data).

Thanks!

Your best option is the Export feature on your Ratings page.

It's in the 3-vertical dots menu icon, to the right of "Your Ratings" on the desktop version of the page.
