In Progress

Display errors on title (and name) pages

I have been getting this for a while

Look at the screenshot. Just one example. Happens on all kinds of pages. Not every time, but maybe one in three times that the page does not load properly. I put red circles around the relevant parts where it keeps loading and no matter how long I wait, nothing happens. This also often results in nothing happening when I click links for example. As for the rating, I did rate this title, but it also does not show the rating every time this happens.

I tried deleting my entire imdb browser chronic and even resetting my browser, but it does not solve the issue. Any ideas? Have others experienced it?

@Horst This is a symptom of one of the scripts required to display the content of IMDb’s pages being blocked, either the script itself or its access to IMDb’s back-end systems. This is a local problem on your system or network and it is not something IMDb can fix, sorry.  Please see https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/common-issues/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF and pay particular attention to the points on ad blockers and VPNs.

You can usually confirm this by trying a different browser and/or opening a private browsing / incognito tab and logging in to IMDb within that tab.

Hope this helps.

I have been experiencing this as well (Win 11 PC, Google Chrome).

Specifically, some pages either randomly don't show the User Rating OR don't show My Rating for the films in question.

Neither Incognito mode, not using another browser (Opera) helps.

[NB. My ad-blocker & browser safety addons were disabled. No VPN. Problem persists.]

@NYVKE Thanks for confirming.  We are investigating an issue which is the likely root cause (@Horst when you wrote "for a while" above, we assumed you meant for a few days/weeks and not just something today, sorry).

@Col_Needham Correct. I don't know how long exactly, but probably at least 2-3 months. But it has been worse lately, more often, so thought I'd post.

As for the other response: I do use a vpn sometimes, but the issue also persist when I do not have it enabled. There are background processes running though nonetheless, so I disabled them and will see if that changes anything. I also have Adblock Plus (like most I guess) and I can try disabling it for imdb unless I get flooded with ads then.

@Col_Needham

In my case, it has just been today.

All was fine yesterday.
