cannot use link to go to another imdb page; bounces back

This is a strange one that started happening a week or so ago and is intermittent.

  • What I'm doing
    • I'm on the page for a tv episode, for example, it happened when I was on NCIS: The Inside Man
    • I click a link on the page.  When this is happening, any link I've tried causes this problem.  Most typically, I'm clicking on "Trivia" or the ">" that takes you to the next episode ("Good Cop, Bad Cop" in this case).
    • The page I want comes up.  It might be slow to draw or move up and down more than usual (the ad at the top causes this, I think as it draws bigger or smaller).
  • What I expect:  The page to stop moving and then I can read it, etc.
  • What actually happens:  The page doesn't stop moving long enough to read anything and then I'm suddenly back on NCIS: The Inside Man.  That is, the trivia page is gone and I'm back on the main page for that episode.
    • Clicking again has the same result.  It will not stay on another page.
    • I have not tried an external link.
    • Going to the Goofs page or to another episode page has the same result.
  • Work around:  Open the link in another tab or another browser window.
    • Once I'm in a new tab, everything works normally.  I can then go back to NCIS: The Inside Man and the links will work, so I don't think it's cookies.  I haven't tried cleaning cookies.
  • Environment:  I'm running on a MacBook Air with macOS 27.0.1 and using Safari 27.0.1.  I have not tried it in Firefox or any other browser.

@liz4cps, we have not seen any similar reports so this sounds like a local issue and possibly related to a browser plug-in such as an ad blocker or similar, sorry.  Please follow the advice in https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/common-issues/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF and let us know what happens.

Hope this helps.
