Can reviews state rating + no. of episodes watched by reviewer please then mathematically make rating fair?
Some people review a show after 1 episode which is treated the same as someone who reviews a show after 5 seasons ( say 100 episodes as an example ). Mathematically if someone wants to be the “first” to review a show then based on review date ( + what they would put as episodes watched ) their score should reflect the percentage of the show they watched. In other words if someone reviews a show after 1 episode then their mark should only reflect a percentage of episodes shown, for example if 2 people reviewed a show with one reviewing one episode ( gave it a 1 rating ) & another person reviewing 100 episodes ( giving it a 10 rating ) then their combined score should not be 5.5 as that is ridiculous. The person who only reviewed 1 episode should only be credited with the percentage of shows done ( so a mathematical equations should be used so every time episodes increase the rating of people who rated less numbers of a show is taken into account ). So in the example about the 2 people’s rating would ( automatically be worked out ) 1 episode out of 100 of a 1 star rating = 100th of the total value compared to the 10 = 1 “whole” number value of a show that at that point has exactly 100 episodes ( ie Anger Management ). So those 2 reviews would end up giving a much more accurate mark as the person who has seen all 100 episodes is more informed that the person who only watched one episode. The rating mark needs to reflect how much content the reviewer has seen.
So then the overall score in this example would be 9.9 rating ( instead of a 1 episode review dragging down shows scores because somebody is so desperate to be the first person to review a show totally unfairly ).
Ratings should be in a fair way mathematically giving more status with more episodes the reviewer has seen, as it seems some people’s need for attention is more important that a community trying to share honestly.
I respect everyone can review a show how they feel but please have a fairer rating system that is based on episodes watched as I read some reviews & look at the dates & see the reviews were made way too early, as some shows get better & better, some worse & worse, then a few are very much up & down so there needs to be a fair & honest way this can be reflected in the scores ( with the latest reviews coming up first for people to agree or disagree with as we’ve all seen great shows suddenly go really bad in a new season ).
