ATS: Allow customised changes to filter orders or to hide some of them
Hi there In the Advanced Search page, usually I have certain filters that I use more than the others (as I am sure it is the same for everyone else). For me, it is "Your Lists" and "Rated By You" filters. then other filter with secondary importance, then other rarely used filters, and finally never used filters. I understand that IMDb trying to sort them according to data they have to enhance UX, but there is an issue, an existing issue: Problem: The filters are not sorted in a constant sorting, meaning every time I use the Advanced Search, the filters are sorted different than previous instances. i.e. sometimes the "Your Lists" is placed the last filter, but sometimes it is 8th from the end! Since I use the filtering all the time, this causes much frustration because I will have to search for the filter every time (as opposed to knowing where it is so I go to the same spot every time), it is a menace that I have to deal with multiple times daily. Solution: The obvious solution is to make the location of each filter fixed so everyone can memorize where it is, but I have a more ideal solution: Ideal Solution: Allowing customization for each user to sort the filters as he prioritizes, and even hide the unnecessary filters. Even better: Allowing the user to set a custom one-click filtration. e.g. I save a custom filter to narrow down the search to only Movies and TV Movies that are in my Watchlist and that are tagged with the word "Anime", and rename it "Anime Movies I would like to watch". This will enhance the experience 100X and will utilize an important feature to its full potential. I have the photo that explains the problem if you'd like, but I don't seem to be allowed to upload here.

The reason you are seeing different orders is that there is an experiment to test different orders; you are supposed to consistently see one order, but if you are logging out / clearing cookies / switching browsers then this will explain why you are seeing both orders. The experiment is ending soon so it will be back to one order. We have converted this post into an Idea post for the suggestion to allow the filters to be customised so other customers can vote and comment on the idea.
