Advanced Search doesnt work

Hi,

When I only enter rates and dates in Advanced Search Section it works but when I choose genre and location it doesn't. It seems the selections chosen by clicking are the problem.

That won't yield m/any results because few/no titles have all those genres all together.

If you are trying to eliminate genres, use the ! (not) symbol, which you apply to the url after generating your search.

Also, you've specified that you want to both include and exclude your Watchlist titles (the %21 is !). What do you expect _that_ to do? You definitely need to choose only 1 of those 2 options.

So here's the search it looks like you were attempting:

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature,tv_movie,tv_series,tv_special,tv_miniseries,documentary&release_date=1970-01-01,&user_rating=7.0,&num_votes=1000,&!genres=crime,film-noir,game-show,horror,music,musical,news,reality-tv,romance,sport,talk-show,thriller,war,western&lists=%21watchlist

Notice the ! in front of genre. (I chose to Exclude the Watchlist titles; not sure if that's what you wanted.)

This got 7,080 results.

You can also make a mixed list of genres to include/exclude by putting the ! in front of individual genres themselves.

The ! operator works on most of the parameters in ATS. When it does, you can use it for the entire parameter or individual values, just as you with genres.

Most parameter lists operate with AND logic. Clearly title_type uses OR.

Unfortunately, I don't see where these details are documented in the Help Center.

I was trying to exclude watchlist it seems include selected by mistake. I thought genre section operated with OR logic.  I will search as you suggested from now on. Thanks.
