The rating “Coming Soon” label is confusing (was: What does coming soon mean?)

Does “Coming Soon” mean a selection is actually slated to be available soon?

Where is the "coming soon" text that you are referring to?

On my watchlist when you click on the selection, it brings up detail; the same place to click to rate a selection. It shows as a gold star ⭐️ to the left of a colorless star to click in order to rate. Curious if the selection will really be available soon. I have some pretty obscure selections on my Watchlist as I’m following a 1950’s actor with multiple credits in movies and television (ex. The Match Game- episodes from the 1960’s and some late 50’s Ed Sullivan Shows) that have a gold “Coming Soon” star. Thanks.

Ah, I see that display in the iPhone app. Are you also using the app – Android or iOS? Unfortunately, I think that text only refers to the user rating, which will appear if enough users rate the title. It doesn't mean that the film/episode will be available to watch. IMDb should consider changing this display.

Yes, I’m using the app. If it doesn’t mean it’s actually coming soon, why would they display that? Very misleading. I agree it should be corrected. They should offer an explanation if nothing else. How can it be addressed with the IMBd folks? Thanks for the info.
