Can I make public lists my own?

Can I make public lists my own. Hopefully in a way requiering less work than adding every single list item to the new list.

I only want these lists for my private use, not stealing views from the original list creators.

As it is now, I have to search for lists on interesting subjects using Google search and the opening the links in the app. It would be so good to have everything easily available in the app.

Stein: I think this is what you are looking for. These instructions are all for the desktop version of IMDb, though. I don't know whether it can be done directly on the app.

1. Create a new list of your own, but don't add any items to it. Set the list as "private".

2. Go to a list that you want to copy. Example: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls525325077/

3. At the upper right part of the list, there will be buttons labeled "Export" and "Copy". Click on "Copy".

4. On the next screen, near the top of the list, there will be a checkbox labeled "0 selected". Check that box.

5. You should now see that all the titles on the list are selected. In addition, there will now be a clickable "COPY TO" link. Click on that.

6. A pop-up box will appear titled "Copy to another list". It will say "Your Lists" and "-- Select a List --". Click on the down-arrow and a list of all your lists will appear. Select the new list you just created. Click "Save".

7. Go back to the page with your list and reload the page. The other list should now be copied over into it.

Good luck!

@gromit82 Thank you so much! Your very detailed explanation was really easy to follow even though I haven't worked with the web-version of IMDb before and it actually is quite different from the iPadOS app.

Off topic:

Is there a way to change the web page to dark mode?

... and finally - some user forums has a function that let you mark an answer to your post as the "correct" one or the most helpful. This then could give extra "activity points" to the author of that answer.
I would very much like to do that to your answer - if possible.

Again - a big thank you from Norway.

Thanks! You will see other posts on this board where you can click "Mark as Accepted Answer" below a response. However, since this particular thread is tagged as an "Idea" post, I don't think it's possible to do that in this particular discussion.
