It would be nice to get more statistics about the ratings
I would like the option to see more statistics about the ratings, like standard deviation or how many votes for each rating.
Because many movies have people who either hate it , or love it. Some movies however are generally very much liked, and receive little critique. So it would be nice to be able to see the difference.
This need not be easily accessible because the average rating is a great estimate for how good a movie is, in an overview, it could however be a toggle in the settings, or a “see more” option under the rating- for all us statistics “nerds”
Thank you!

IMDb provides distribution of votes. IMDb also breaks out ratings by gender and age group.
For instance, this is the User Ratings for The Shawshank Redemption (1994):
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/ratings
The distribution of vote is available for each of the demographic groups. For instance:
Males 30-44
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/ratings?demo=males_aged_30_44
You can get to the ratings page for a title by clicking the number of vote under the ratings:
It would be nice if IMDb provided standard deviation. However, since they provide the distribution of votes, it is relatively easy to compute the weighted standard deviation:
