Woman goes back in time

This movie is a older movie I seen in 1980's or 90's a married couple move into a older home with an attic. The woman goes to sleep and travels in time to a different life. She tells her husband Abt this dream and he doesn't believe her. She continues to discover this new life is more interesting than her present life and she tells him she will send him pictures if she stays. When she disappears he discovered a painting in the attic of her new life.
