Sci-fi movie - can’t remember the name

It's a sci-fi film set in the future where a group of military recruits are in some bootcamp (?) on in some ice-covered place. One of the recruits, who looks like he’s an undercover operative, sneaks out of the base. He is caught by a fellow recruit but manages to convince them that he was just getting some fresh air to let him go after a tense conversation.

there is also one scene where this recruit asks his commander if he’s considered for some mission or elite team and the commander asks if he would kill his mother if given the order.
