movie where man searches for estranged brother only find out he was dead and protag falls in love with widow.

For years I've sworn I watched a movie once where a guys brother ran off from home and years later the protag tracks him to London(?) and once there finds his brothers widow living alone with their kid. Protag ends up staying with them for a while and they fall in love. can anybody help with a possible name? i have tried googling any possible combination of this elements and turned up nothing. maybe it was a fever dream or something...
