Movie title about guy awaiting on a delivery

I think it may be called the post but I'm unable to find the movie I'm after with that title.
It's about a guy waits in for a package but it doesn't get delivered so he tries desperately to trace the package including trying to befriend the guy at the delivery company.
He has great difficulty dealing with the delivery, it turns out he's trying to trace either a wedding ring or an engagement ring for his fiancée.
It's based on a true story as they show the court case from the real life event at the end of the movie.
