Movie: Bet to stay on couch until video game record is complete

This is driving me bonkers.... this movie was terrible... but i cant find it.

Set in the 90s-ish this loser in his 20s or something always gives up setting video game records on his NES (with the vhs tripod camcorder set up) so his asshole roommate/brother? makes a bet with him that his butt cant leave the couch until he beats a record before the end of the year (which is like 5 months away)

I cant even for the life of me remember what game it was...

This movie goes to extremes, like his friend is supposed to bring supplies but brings mountain dew and cheesies, he cant even stand up to get the remote, the window next to the couch gets broken, the lack of water causes him to dig a hole in the wall to the water pipe.. which then freezes due to the open window... eventually his brain breaks and we have this sort of virtualistic out of body experience.. im pretty sure he gets the record and doesnt die.... but looks like an old cast away skinny with a beard by the end..
