Looking for the name of a TV series

Series was about 20 years ago.

Along the premise of the tool time show, only I think older.

It was about 2 ladies lived next door to each other and did a cooking show.

When they were not doing the show within the show, there was the antics of the spouses, kids and in-laws like they did on tool time. 

One episode I remember vividly was one wife had been trying for years to make the pumpkin pie her husband remembers as a kid his mom made, every recipe good but not it.  Finally she just dumps a can of pumpkin in the pie shell and calls it good.  That was the recipe.

Any clue as to the name of the show please.
