Looking for a Film name

I'm trying to remember the name of a film i seen in the 80's or 90's. It feature a young boy called Charlie who I think was In an abusive home and he was listening to his parents fighting and was hiding /keeping a pet rabbit under his bed. Ive been looking for this film for ages
