I can´t find this movie

I´m from argentina, so sorry for my english haha.

I'm trying to find a movie released between approximately 2000 and 2012. The trailer was a family that was in an open sky and snowy landscape. One of the sons falls into a very thin abyss and is left hanging while another supports him. I hope someone can help me find it! thank you.

Do you recall the trailer? What about the genre or size of the family?

I suppose the genre was suspense, because you saw the boy hanging from the abyss and the plot of the trailer was to rescue him.
I honestly don't remember any actors or actresses, just that it was a family in which there were two children, and one of them fell.

Do you remember the names of any of the actors or actresses? I don't suppose the movie you're looking for could be Vertical Limit (2000)?

Lo que podría ayudar sería que escribieras la sinopsis en tu propio idioma, agregando más detalles. Entonces puedo intentar ayudarte a encontrar el título de la película. (Disculpe la traducción automática al español).

no, the film is not vertical limit.
I honestly don't remember any actors or actresses. It was a family with a father and two sons, and one of those sons falls into an abyss and is left hanging.
I think before that they were skiing.

You could try a search on a movie finder website such as What Is My Movie.

There's also a thread called "What Was the Name of That Movie?" on Whirlpool Forums. You'll have to open a (free) account before you can post your question. They do expect users to first do a keyword search on IMDb and Google.

Good luck!

Have you watched the movie?  I think you will need a lot more detail than that for someone to help you find it.  What is a "thin abyss"?

This sounds like a very specific scene in Day after tomorrow with Dennis Quaid and dash mihok in the scene. Jake Gyllenhaal was in the movie too but he wasn't in the scene. The guy fell into what you called and abyss  and guys have to pull him out.
