I am trying to remember an old western movie title. I remember this movie as a kid in the early 70's.
Movie may have been shot in the 50's or 60's. What I remember of it had a ragtag group of women and men trying to fight off an Indian attack. The men were made up of civilians and cavalry. They were fighting from a pueblo/adobe type dwelling and realize they can not continue to hold the Indians off. So the men take off on horses to try to draw the Indians away from the women and wounded left in the shelter. Unfortunately the men end up riding into a box canyon and realize they are trapped. They spin their horses and look at each other as to say this is it. One of the cavalry men is a bugler and he sounds a charge and they charge the Indians. Can't remember if they turned and charged back, just remember one last cavalry man had been knocked from his horse and was standing to face the charge of the Indians. The first Indian does not strike him down and you hope he makes it, but as the last Indian passes him he puts a spear through him. The Indians wheel and race from the canyon and in the distance the cavalry is coming to the rescue....but too late for the men in the canyon. That's my foggy remembrances. Hope someone can help. Thx!
