Help me find the name of a Barbara Stanwyck movie
Barbara Stanwyck was the lead; the scene I remember is that a bedroom door slowly swings open. Stanwyck is on the bed, but her face and and neck have had really dark shoe polish or makeup applied so that her eyes pop really bright, driving me nuts.

I finally found this online. I googled "Ball of Fire, Howard Hawkes, dark room
In the last instance, Stanwyck’s face is barely visible in a dark room, her bright eyes expressive as she listens to Potts’ declaration of love (the effect was achieved by Toland smearing black greasepaint all over Stanwyck’s face—a presumably unpleasant price to pay for one of the film’s most striking images).
