Help identifying a movie

Help identifying a movie Released before 1998, probably 80s or 90s.  Some kind of drama, I think it was Asian, or at least with an East Asian cast.  The scene I remember: A man and a woman are reunited. They knew each other when they were young and a decade or so has passed. The man comes to visit the woman. He remembers her fondly but bittersweetly. They had a sort of romantic thing going back in the days and ended up having sex once, before life separated them.  The woman is much more reluctant to share her memories and she is clearly bothered by seeing him again. Through flashbacks we discover that their night together was not consensual – she did not agree to have sex and was raped.  I think that we are shown flashbacks of the sexual encounter from.both perspectives, Rashamon style. It took place outside, in the lawn and there is heavy rain. His flashback shows him on top of her. Her flashback is zoomed in on her face, showing a pained expression.  The scene is very tense and sort of builds towards a crescendo where we are shown what the woman actually experienced during the rape.  I've been trying to find this movie for years with no help. Any hint would be appreciated!
