Can't find a horror movie from the 90's

I saw this movie on Dutch TV, I believe it was 1996. It was a low budget horror from the USA, and I searched for it on justwatch.com but I couldn't find it to my surprise. It's was about some guy with a demonic baby creature inside of him, a bit like the one from Total Recall from 1990. And it made him do all kinds of bad things, it controlled his mind. That's all I remember, hopefully it will ring a bell.

It was not exactly inside of him, but the fun movie Brain Damage has a talking parasite using its blue fluid to addict a helpless guy.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback. But I really think it's not the movie I'm looking for. Seriously, this is the weirdest thing ever, it looks like this movie has vanished from the earth. I'm starting to think it was perhaps a European production?

It was a bit similar to Brain Damage, but this creature was inside the belly like in Total Recall (1990). I saw it on a Dutch TV channel named RTL, if I recall correctly, it was late at night. I saw it probably in 1996 or 1997, at that time they were still broadcasting low budget B horror movies on cable. Very weird that I can't find it on IMDB and JustWatch.

BTW, I did find this list, but I don't think it's any of these movies:

I went through the list.  If you had said it was a woman that was possessed, I would have suggested Baby Blood or Inseminoid.  Nothing else I could thank matched.  In Shivers, the creatures were small, slug like parasites.  How to Get Ahead in Advertising was a comedy.  Googling the creature from Total Recall to job my memory, it looked a little like the creature from the end of The Johnsons, a Dutch horror film, but I don't remember the creature controlling anyone (it has been awhile since I saw it though).

Sorry, that is about all I can think of.  Good luck with your search (I have been there).

Sounds like it might be one of the Basket Case movies.

Basket Case (1982)
Basket Case 2 (1990)
Basket Case 3 (1991)

The creature wasn't inside of his belly per se, rather he carried it around in a basket that he held in front of his belly. It was his formerly conjoined twin who had been forcibly separated. Although maybe he was still attached at the beginning of the movie, but don't think I ever saw the whole thing or either of the sequels.

Anyway, it looks pretty close to the Total Recall creature to me.

I think Basket Case comes close, but when I look at the pictures and trailers, I still think it's a different movie, because it was an evil baby like creature inside the guys belly from what I remember.

I think this movie was made in the 90's, because it had that 90's look and feel. And BTW, I believe it had a bad ending as well, so the guy couldn't get rid of the creature.

I think during that time, I also saw a movie named Blood Salvage, luckily I remembered this movie which was also known as Mad Jake.

Are you sure it's not the original Basket Case movie? In that movie, the man and the demon started out as conjoined twins.

These are both long shots, but I am including them.

In The Evil Dead Trap, the killer has his twin brother inside of him having him kill a documentary crew.  It is Japanese however.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167147/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

The other one I thought about is The Hidden where the slug alien makes people go crazy.  It does not look anything like the Total Recall creature.

Both of these seem unlikely, but I am including them just in case.  I'm afraid I am about out of ideas.

Best of luck with your search.  I hope you find the movie.

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. But I'm afraid I couldn't find the movie on JustWatch, so it will remain a mystery for now. The reason why I was searching for this movie is because I made a list of my favorite movies (980 titles), see link. Let me know if you like the list. I saw most of these movies on Dutch TV, those were the good old days LOL.

Just so you know, the list is not public, so I can't access the link.

I do hope you find that elusive movie one day.

What the hell, when I load the list, it's marked as public. And when I go to my settings, it's on the ''public'' setting, seems like a bug on IMDB? Thanks for letting me know, I will open a new topic about this issue.

And yes, I think my best bet is to contact RTL, you never know if they kept a record of all movies that they broadcasted in the last 30 years or so.

OMG, I just signed out of my IMDB account, and now I can't sign in because they are giving me very hard to read captcha's, has IMDB lost its mind?

BTW, the problem with my ''favorite movies'' list has been fixed by some IMDB employee, so now it should work.

BTW, I still haven't found the movie I was searching for, but I was amazed at how many low budget horror movies have been made in the last 40 years, so no wonder it can be hard to find a certain movie. I believe The Unborn (1991) did come close. And luckily I did find some other movie I have been searching for, it's an Australian movie named Fortress (1985). I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid at least 30 years ago.

You will probably stumble onto the film by accident.  That has happened to me.

Best of luck.

Thanks, but to be honest I already gave up, I think it was probably not a US based movie. But I also did not expect to ever find the Fortress movie from 1985. It's funny, I actually searched on Google for a list of movies that were produced by Warner Bros, because SkyShowtime (basically Paramount+) will soon be launched in The Netherlands. And then I stumbled on Fortress on Wikipedia, it got my attention because I actually loved the Fortress 1 and 2 movies with Christopher Lambert, see links.

BTW, you can see the Fortress (1985) movie on YouTube I just found out, but sadly enough not in HD. It doesn't seem to be available on any of the streaming services in the US or Europe. Strange since it has been produced by HBO.

Actually it's pretty sad how many movies you can't find especially in Europe, this whole ''movie rights'' thing is pretty bonkers. So that's why I had no choice but to use a VPN, but even then I still can't see many movies because they try to block VPN's.

I saw Fortress years ago on VHS tape.  It only played theaters or on tape here in the States.  It got a theatrical release in Australia and maybe some other countries.  I believe there was a DVD released in the U.S. and England (I assume Australia as well, but I don't know that).  There are no sources in HD as far as I know.  If it ever does, my guess would be Australia would release it, which at least most of their disks are region free and can play anywhere.

If you liked Fortress, you might check out (if you can find it), an Australian film called Vicious, which I saw around the same time as I did Fortress and remember liking a little more.  Just a suggestion (I will include the link below).  Good luck with your search.  You will probably find the nameless movie by accident (that happened to me recently).

Thanks, never saw this Vicious movie. I do know that Fortress (1985) was broadcasted in the late 80's a couple of times on Dutch TV, I remember it was quite nerve wrecking. I will watch it today on YouTube.

I also found out that on YouTube you can watch Fright Night 2 (1988) which is strangely enough also not available on any of the streaming services in the US and Europe, like I said it's bonkers. But seems someone has uploaded it. It's a very good movie, which sadly enough I hadn't seen in 25 years or so.

BTW, which movie did you recently find? It's so annoying, I'm currently also searching for two other movies. I believe one of them might be Australian, it was about some teenage girl being stalked by a boy. And another one was I believe a Swedish movie about honour killings in a Turkish family. Why didn't I write the name of these movies down? I never knew it would be so hard to find them. But back then I didn't knew I would become a movie fanatic one day LOL.

The Australian film about the stalker might be Night of Fear:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0130905/

The plot also sounds like the British film And Soon the Darkness:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065398/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1

I hope one of these is the one.  The Turkish honor killing movie does not ring a bell.

My situation is when I was about ten or so, I saw a brief part of a movie on TV which disturbed me with a scene of a teddy bear bleeding through its eyes.  I turned off the TV and did not want to go to bed that night.  However, I remembered nothing else about the film.  About a year ago,  I was watching Still of the Night just because it was a thriller and I like Roy Scheider, and, there, it was the teddy bear scene.  Something like that  may very well happen to you with that creature inside of a person movie.

As always, good luck in your search.

LOL, I know this feeling, I'm so glad for you that you found the Still of the Night movie, I don't think I ever saw it. I was planning to watch Blue Thunder (1983) with Roy Schneider, but Plex removed it.

And thanks for the tips, but I should have given more info. I believe the Australian movie was made between 1990 and 2010. And the movie about honour killings was I believe about a Turkish family living in Denmark or Sweden and was probably made between 2005 and 2010, very weird that I can't find it when searching for movies about this topic.

About the Australian movie, I remember a scene where some guy stalks some young teenage girl that's hiding in some abandoned factory in some desert or something? Or perhaps it was a British movie, but I don't think so. But yeah, it's really hard to find movies with so little info, especially if they were low budget movies.

BTW, I didn't even know that certain movies like Dead Calm (1989) and Holy Smoke (1999) were Australian made. Dead Calm was absolutely brilliant.
