Black and white movie about a hounted house

I have seen a movie when I was little about a group of people stuck in a hounted house or maybe they had to stay one night in the house and not leave to win something.  The movie I think may be black and white. The way the movie was shot you can see it was inside of a studio and it had all these trees and foliage as props. The group I remember was running from something. It's not the house on the hounted hill.
