A dark coming of age drama, with tragic ending where a panther(?) kills one of them after a dare.

Or something like this. It is similar to "12 and holding", maybe "Mean creak" or a budget "Butterfly effect", at least the tone is similar. The main characters shoud be around 12-15, the parents of one of them owns a small zoo or something like that... I remember something like a kid is bullied to a dare to go into there, and I think he/she hets killed by a panther, maybe black panther. It has a very dark tone, possibly independent, but not a bad quality at all, I suspect it was made after 2000, but not long before that for sure.
