Your contribution has been declined.We did not capture a specific reason during processing.

In the movie "Family Flight" the lead actor (a pilot) clearly tells his mechanic he is taking his family to Guaymas, Mexico but the description says he's going to Florida (which makes no sense in the plot of the movie).  Yet when I submitted this rather minor change, it was rejected with the standard line "Your contribution has been declined.We did not capture a specific reason during processing."  A system that ignores correct information is bad for IMDb because users will come to question its value, and users submitting correct information will be disinterested in making future corrections; given this system, the quality of IMDb information will decline.

Try submitting your edit again, and type in an explanation in the explanation field.

I put in the explanation why the change was needed.  I included the time in the movie where the lead character says where they are going.  What else can I do?  The system is not working.  Asking people to repeat the same thing over and over is wasting their time trying to help IMDb.  Not a successful methodology.

@tsbrownie

"What else can I do?"

Submit it again. If you really want the edit to be approved, you should try again.

Sorry if you don't like to hear that advice, but it's the best advice I can give you.

One other thing: you could try emailing the person who wrote the plot summary in the first place, and ask him to make the edit. It is more likely to be approved if he corrects his own summary. His email address is in the summary.

@keyword_expert Once again, IMDb is putting the work of dealing with a broken system on me.  No thanks.  I am a retired turnaround biz exec.  I got paid big bucks to fix broken systems, products, companies. Don't have time to waste. So I'm done with this. I can read about "How IMDb Failed" in a future business article, under falling quality standards, or unmanaged growth, or ...

Hi tsbrownie -

Given the sheer volume and the nature of the information we list, occasional mistakes are inevitable, however, when spotted/reported, we aim to promptly verify and fix the error.

Can you post the 18-digit submission reference number associated with your declined update?  Our staff can then take a look at the status for you.

@Michelle Here is the number.  #210712-080555-733000

Don't fix it for my sake, do it for IMDb.

@Michelle Thank you.  I added to another movie: acting credit. Actor had more than 1 minute of screen time (with the main star), character had a name "Pete" and 2 lines. They declined that one also. (I knew this actor personally.) It's frustrating when one has solid facts and it's automatically assumed that the existing wrong / missing information has more credibility.
