Is the following yet another "unique case" where a duplicated photo can't be deleted because the site can't properly function without it?

Hello Marco,
There are unique exceptions made, as is the case for the images you reported, where the image is from a partnered-source and the display is reliant for specified features on the site.
As such these specific duplicate images will need to remain on the site.
