Yani Neko Opening: Refences or Spoofs?

The opening of the anime Yani Neko (Chainsmoker Cat) is packed with references, as can be seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEP6hpj368w

But considering that all these references involve replacing characters from the original works with characters from the anime, I was wondering: should they be added as references or as spoofs?

Hi DuraNext-

Thank you for posting the link! Hard to determine but if they are intended as a joke reference then they should be submitted as spoof. Otherwise, if they are not and they are just referencing those scenes from other titles then they should be submitted to references.

Cheers!

Yeah, I actually find it hard to pin down. The opening features recreations, and the comedic moments usually occur in the same spots where the original scenes being referenced were funny.

Since it’s a comedy animation, I initially thought they might be spoofs; however, given that the opening doesn't add extra elements for the sake of a joke, simply recreating the scenes with the show's characters, perhaps it's valid to classify them as references?

@DuraNext - Yes, they seemed to be paying a 'homage' to those titles and not intended as a joke.
