Hi ind3-

Thanks for reporting this! The incorrect claims to both of those pages have been actioned and removed. Further actions have been taken on the contributor responsible and an escalation of this issue has been raised to respective team.

The changes will be live on the site shortly for both pages.

Cheers!

The incorrect claims to both of those pages have been actioned and removed. Further actions have been taken on the contributor responsible and an escalation of this issue has been raised to respective team.

And once again he simply reverted the changes.

I stated in this thread (which has now been marked Closed):

https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/wrong-page-has-been-claimed/66d56d26f793235586e2e197

The Doors generate a significant amount of revenue annually, and this person apparently thinks that he has some sort of claim to the profits. The only solution that I can see is to cancel his Pro subscription and stop accepting his credit card. Unless you physically prevent him from claiming this or other pages, he's simply not going to stop vandalizing.

Billboard estimates that The Doors' master recording catalog generates nearly $10 million in annual revenue, with band royalties coming to about $4.4 million thanks to a heritage contract, which likely carries a generous 50% royalty payment on streaming licensing.

Because Morrison and The Doors became much more popular in the years following, the value of that royalty stream is reported to have been more than $80 million.

Even in 1980, the band was quite profitable:

The surviving Doors—Ray Manzarek, now 41, Robby Krieger, 34, and John Densmore, 35—put out two more perfunctory albums before disbanding in 1974. They still receive some $250,000 apiece annually from their Doors’ work, and the take should double or triple this year.

In appropriate circumstances, IMDb will terminate the accounts of account holders who are repeat infringers.

Why doesn't this apply in this case?

@Maya

Thanks, but the videos and resumes are still listed.

He also deleted the contact information from the pages for Jim Morrison and The Doors and seems to have changed the "Known for" recommendation for The Doors.

@ind3 Hi-

Thank you! There seems to be a further issue for this incorrect claim on The Doors page, I've forwarded this information to the appropriate team for further investigation (Ref Ticket #V1648213007).

We'll reply once we receive further information.
