In Progress

Wrong movie poster Basic Instinct

I remember about a year ago I made a post about movieposters that are all of a sudden being changed. I wonder how the heck this is possible? Often when I recommend a new (more cool looking) poster it gets denied. So how come these movie posters get approved? Is this done by real people or bots? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103772/

Hello Navin2000, Poster are determined by the type of title, in this case for Movies we want: The most iconic and widely-recognized poster, of the best image quality. English language posters are preferred if available, although we may exercise editorial discretion to override this in some special cases. Do you know that is the best poster for this Title? You can submit the modification request with a valid explanation and evidence for us to verify. You can find help and instructions in our Help Articles: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/images-videos/how-do-i-update-my-poster/GA8N34CWGUMJJM98?ref_=helpsrall#

@ Michelle and Fran Thanks, but I wonder why sometimes movie posters are changed to weird ones? Who did approve this?

Hi Navin2000 - When I reinstated the original poster, I filed a ticket to investigate how the poster was changed, so we're currently still working on identifying how the change occurred. In the meantime, if you are seeing similar instances on other titles, please let us know those titles our tech team can investigate those as well. Lastly, concerning the other thread you referenced for the non-clickable User Reviews, I can confirm that Maya has re-engaged our tech team to investigate further. Any updates on the status will be posted on that thread. Thanks in advance for your patience!

@ Michelle OK thanks for letting me know. I just think it's weird that people can change this stuff, but when I sometimes suggest a movieposter, it gets denied, probably because it's not the official one. Jacob's Ladder (1990) also seems to have a non-official movieposter at the moment, so you guys might want to investigate this. I believe that link 2 and 3 are the official posters. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099871/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099871/mediaviewer/rm1030062848/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099871/mediaviewer/rm1902701568/
