Wrong cast possible?

I am just at the cast of "The Departed" and found your link to an actor named "John McConnell (XIII)" (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8560273/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t75). On my hunt for a headshot of him, I reached the site of Aveleyman, who always tries to present the actors with screenshots (https://www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=11496). And this picture looks much more loke "John McConnell (I)" (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0566279/). If you subtract the beart and cut the hair, the face is the same. Not to mention that Aveleyman has linked the Departed-McConnell with "John McConnell (I)".

As I don't know your sources, if there is any prove that Aveleyman is wrong, please let me know. But the screenshot tells another story.

Does anybody have any further info?

There is no image for The Departed on Aveleyman, as you can see next to credit is empty without an image. They have only image for "Reaping". Aveleyman mostly takes credit data from IMDb as a placeholder until they can find images for the roles. So you should only look at the credits with images. In this case, I can see these credits were previously on "John McConnell (I)" on IMDb but there was a split performed by someone. Meaning someone knowingly moved these few credits to a new name page, and looking at the bio info they put and bio byline, that's the actor himself. So Aveleyman uses outdated data of the IMDb (from before a split was performed here). In short, I'm sure everything is correct currently.

I thought you are able to click from the site of the actor to the movie itself:

https://www.aveleyman.com/FilmCredit.aspx?FilmID=27231

As there is exactly the same screenshot of "John McConnell" on "The Departed" as on the site for the actor, it explains my presumption itself

@magmadrag That screenshot is not from The Departed, it's from "Interview with the Vampire": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihou_f30AYo

Like I said, they only have an image for "Reaping", so when you click movies where they don't have an image for the role, it will show the image of the profile, which is from "Interview with the Vampire". You will see that same image when you click any other films other than "Reaping" too.

Like I said, this was intentionally moved to a new name page by someone at some point. And they even put some bio info on that new page to apparently prevent a confusion.

This is the first time this happens. Usually if they don't have a screenshot from the actor for a movie, the field remains free.
