Stunts/ Extras for Boris Sagals World War III ( 1981)
As a member of the 40 extra/stunt group comprising the cast of "World War III" it was disappointing to see upon airing on NBC that fall of 1981 or 1982 that there were no credits for us. We worked very hard, and were proud to have contributed to the production. I will have to attempt to post some of the many photos I have of the production at 7200Ft.
We were comprised of mostly Ski instructors and Pro Patrol from Multopor Ski Bowl. Timberline, and Mt Hood Meadows Ski areas , all of whom were on Mt. Hood.
we worked quite closely with Boris Sagal, and he was very good to us, calling us " Boys..." and was quite appreciative of our efforts. He was very frustrated however with the light; apparently the photography from the helicopter was less that his expectations, and this frustration, and possibly disorientation upon dismounting from the helo' may had led to his fatal encounter with the rear rotor blade.
We were there when Sagal was killed at the helicopter landing site in the lower parking lot at Timberline Lodge.
I hope the film will be cleaned up digitally and reissued . The current copies are disintegrating quickly.
It was, for a made for TV-NBC Production, quite a good story( as much as TV broadcasting time would allow) and was split up over two days upon airing in 1982.
