Wonder Woman 1984 — Plot Outline Rejected Three Times Despite Supporting Evidence
I am requesting a manual review of three declined plot-outline corrections for Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), IMDb title tt7126948.
My submissions have been rejected three times, alternately citing "Unable to verify" and "Does not meet contribution guidelines."
For the most recent submission, I provided supporting references from DC's official website and Common Sense Media, explaining how the proposed description reflects the film's established storyline.
The proposed outline is:
"When a wish-granting artifact offers Wonder Woman a chance to reclaim lost love, Maxwell Lord seizes its power to reshape the world—forcing her to choose between the person she longs for and the world she has sworn to protect."
The existing outline merely lists two antagonists and a romantic subplot, without explaining the central conflict or how these elements relate to one another.
My proposed replacement is intended to provide a more informative and engaging description while remaining concise and avoiding major spoilers.
I fully understand that IMDb has editorial standards and that not every proposed correction can be accepted. However, repeatedly rejecting a contribution with generic explanations, even after supporting evidence has been supplied, makes it practically impossible to understand what needs to be corrected.
As a voluntary contributor, I find this process unnecessarily frustrating. Contributors invest their time and effort in improving the database without compensation. Surely it is reasonable to expect specific and actionable feedback when their submissions are declined.
Could an IMDb staff member please review my submission and clarify:
-
Which specific element of the proposed outline cannot be verified?
-
Does the text violate a particular contribution guideline?
-
Or is the replacement being declined simply because the existing outline is considered sufficiently accurate?
I am happy to correct any actual factual errors. I would simply appreciate a specific explanation rather than another generic rejection.
Thank you for reviewing this matter.
