Wide case investigation needed into IMDb entry?

I just came across this entry today, the details of which are submitted by his agent: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1960375

It came to my notice when I saw him listed as appearing in this episode of Wogan: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0749915/reference

The end of the episode is available on YouTube and he is NOT credited as part of it. However, I've left it for now, as I suspect he MAY be the gatecrasher in the episode, in which case his entry should be updated, if only to include "uncredited". But, without the full facts in archive newspapers, I've left it for now.

But I see he has a LOT of credits, including one for a show called Ghost Hunters. I got the series, and, wouldn't you know it, the one where he's listed as a writer has the credits chopped off at the end. Oh well.

But then there's a credit for the League of Gentlemen episode "A Plague on Royston Vasey", which lists "acknowledgment". There's no acknowledgement on this episode, except for a credit at the end which gives a thanks to the "people of Hadfield, High Park, Derbyshire". Is that REALLY the credit that's being cited? Do I then look for "thanks" to my home town and add myself onto the IMDb with star billing?

I've placed this here as I don't have time right now to do a full investigation and this kind of thing should be fair, and accurate. But there's a lot of information on that profile where the info, IMO, isn't quite adding up.

Oh - not particularly germane to the discussion, but I put in a delete request (accepted) for his "official website" as it's no longer online, and can only be sourced via the Wayback Archive.

Hi MovieCat -

Thanks for your report, upon further review by our editors these credits have now been removed.

If you observe further inaccuracies on this name page, please continue to report these credit requests through our online form and our staff will be able to investigate those additional credits further.

Cheers!

@Michelle Thank you A concern is that a lot of his credits are for news broadcasts, which are far less likely to be available to rewatch.

@Michelle I'm just putting a delete request through for the following: tt0983462

There are no credits at the end of the episode for cast, only technical crew, but the names of the "ghost hunters" occur at the start of the episode. The team is all named, but he's not in there.

I've skimmed through the episode quite a bit, I can't see him anywhere in there, and an English accent would stand out in an American show like this: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2qwjpb

What was a real "red flag" on the profile for me was the description of his address: "moved near to Leaveden Studios (famous for: Star Wars / Harry Potter / Lord of the Rings / Superman etc),"

Why would you flag up famous films just because you live near to where they were filmed? If I buy a house in New York, do I create a profile and put "Taxi Driver" next to my name?

Things aren't adding up...

Actually, I've seen suggestions that he just did some promos from the UK side...

One (unrelated) hit for his name on the Times Digital Archive. Zero hits on the whole of the British Newspaper Archive.

I'm also not getting any results for his agent, "Peter Carrig" (even if assumed that it's a typo, and could be Carring): https://www.imdb.com/search/name/?bio_author=Peter%20Carrig%20-%20Ian%27s%20agent&view=simple&sort=alpha

Yes, that's the episode I saw - I've since seen online references that he did a promo for it, but in terms of being IN the episode, I couldn't see any evidence?

@pascal_kay I've seen discussion about that on his wikipedia "talk page" entry... apparently it was just someone with the same name.
