Why Were the Sneak Previews Siskel and Ebert Videos Removed from IMDB?

The Sneak Previews IMDB page used to have 112 videos of Siskel and Ebert's Sneak Previews episodes from the 1970s and 1980s that could be streamed there. It looks like they were removed this month. Can someone from IMDB explain why we can no longer view these on the site? I enjoyed watching these but had not had time to watch them all yet. Can these please be put back online? Does anyone know another source where we can watch these episodes?

Hi @jedijones -

I can confirm that the videos were removed form the series because they were not eligible, as they were full episodes and not previews.

I hope this helps!

@Michelle Thanks for the response. Wasn't there a special effort made to get those videos posted on IMDB originally? Most of those episodes were completely lost media that didn't exist anywhere until IMDB posted them. Someone must've brought them to IMDB with very specific intentions to make the shows completely available here. Those came from Public Television, so they aren't owned by any major media company. Now that they're taken down, there isn't any official source that has them available for viewing. The only copies out there are what regular people downloaded from IMDB and posted on other sites. I don't quite understand why the videos got posted here in the first place and stayed up for years if they weren't eligible to be posted here.

Hi @jedijones -

Thanks for your feedback.  Unfortunately, as mentioned previously they needed to be removed because they were ineligible, and should not have been listed to the series.  It is likely that they remained within the series video gallery because they were likely not reported until recently.
