When Sgt. O'Neill ("Red") asks Sergeant Barnes for leave, so he doesn't have to take part in the big attack they are expecting, and says that he has a bad feeling and he doesn't believe he's going to make it out alive, Barnes does not give him that leave he wants. Barnes then callously tells him "We all gotta die sometime, Red.". As Barnes is walking away from O'Neill after giving him this bad news, Barnes displays his street savvy on human nature and mistrust, because as Barnes is walking away he has his eyes and his head still looking at Sgt. O'Neill, anticipating that O'Neill, out of anger or just losing his mind at his leave not being approved and possibly being killed in the attack, might be desperate enough to jump him in retaliation.ReasonBadly Formatted.
