Why is Gustav Dore (1832-1883) on IMDb?

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0234274/

He was one of the best artists of the 19th century, but he never directly contributed to any films in his lifetime. So I don't know how he could get a link on IMDb.

The answer is in the credits for these movies (on the link you provided): illustrations, etchings, sketches, art, etc.

@keyword_expert  So if any artwork was directly copied and used in the film, it can count? Because that'd be quite a big quantity of films that would feature artwork of deceased/living artists. Do you know how many Mona Lisas or Last Suppers have appeared in films?

Excuse me! Do I have to repeat myself?

Simply a matter of being credited at all in anything that constitutes a movie.
