Why IMDB don't stop review bombing?

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2934286/ratings/?ref_=tt_ov_rt

The series has not even started yet, most of the viewers from the premiere were delighted, but the fans of the gaming universe, who did not like something in the project and who had not even seen it yet, have already spammed the rating with the lowest rating.This is not correct, IMDB should not allow such projects to be evaluated before they are fully released.

Hi chiefzhopa -

The ratings have been removed from this title, we will not display ratings again until there has been a wide release.

Cheers!

@Michelle

that's great guys, but review bombers can still give a low rating, they just won't know what the overall rating is now. it would be great to turn off the ability to rate the series before the premiere on paramount +

Thank you very much for your work, it's nice that you responded so quickly!

Hi @chiefzhopa -

Thanks for the suggestion, I have reached out to the appropriate team to review/consider the option of removing the rating accessibility for this title.

@Michelle yeah, i see how they work. they deleted one good review and publicated bad review is that it is clear that the person has not even watched the first two episodes (I watched and I can honestly say this), but already hates them. Great job guys

I'm not a Paramount+ rep, but I'm so upset that my favorite site allows for the possibility of toxic review bombing. It's horrible.

I noticed this with Come Away and Annie Live!, both of which have reviews from before they were even shown complaining about black people playing classic characters that were previously played by white people.

@Michelle and again. IMDb don’t do anything, look. There reviews are poorly based on interview with the showrunner of halo, whose words were taken out of context and now being replayed.

these people didn’t see the episodes, they just got mad because of the showrunner’s words and went to put one-two star in fairing and write angry reviews.

and you don’t do anything about it . You approve such reviews, how??? I am so ashamed of my favourite site, that they allow such racism and toxicity

@Michelle

how do supp team miss these reviews? they are so similar, they quote the same interview and come up with a description based on the reviews left by those who watched. Do something, stop this painful review bombing. they all have one review on their profile, they're just angry people who haven't even touched the show yet

@Michelle

more than a hundred ratings "1" even before the start of the show and about the same number of dozens. there is a battle going on between the toxics and those who oppose them. Maybe it's time for imdb to step in and clean up the inadequate scores?

It would be nice if accounts that did something like this were banned.

@MovieCat There was someone on this forum who turned out was adding fake credits to an imaginary name page he created for years. Name page is deleted but even after something like that happened, staff says "there are no obvious issues that would prevent your updates from being submitted", to someone who was adding fake credits for years :) They apparently still allow him to add things even after something like that.

There is also things like "taking measures", "taking steps to help prevent" which appears to be never actually working properly. Every time I see staff says "we took steps to prevent this happening again", it happens at least a few times again immediately regardless.

I think IMDb should develop better ways to fight vandalism, because it looks like it's just so easy to vandalise IMDb.

@mbmb Incredible, isn't it? I'm kind of speechless.
