Why do some of the Gamera films have incorrect years of release?
Under Release Info for Release Dates, some of the Gamera films are being given dates of release a full year ahead of when they were actually released in Japan.
For example, Gamera: The Giant Monster is listed as being initially released in American Samoa, the United States and Argentina in 1964. There are no sources corroborating this and in some instances these "dates of release" preceed the actual production of the film itself which was not finished or released in Japan until 1965.
Gamera, Guardian of the Universe has the same issue where release dates are given in 1994 for Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Egypt and Belize prior to the actual premier in Japan in 1995.
Gamera 2: Attack of the Legion has release dates for Canada, the UK, and the United States in 1995 prior to the actual premier in Japan in 1996.
Gamera 3: The Revenge of Iris has release dates for the UK and United States for 1998 despite the actual Japanese premier being 1999.
I have tried correcting some of these dates but have had my edits declined. Since it appears to be a pervasive issue for the pages for different movies of the franchise, I figured I'd drop it here.
