Why are there 100,000 submissions in Title Core right now? What's going on?
Did everyone and their mother decide to add new titles all at the same time?! It's also backed up from February 22nd. What happened?

If you look at the description on that page of what title core means you can see that a new title will have three or four core items. When I looked just now there were 26,313 new titles waiting to be processed so the 92,923 core items looks right for that.
The date may just mean that there is one difficult case that is taking a long time to process.
