Why Are Helpful Ratings DROPPING?
There was a one-star, negative review on a certain movie that had 57 Helpful votes and 34 Unhelpful votes. When I clicked on Helpful, that number DROPPED to 15! Another review on that same movie had (I forget how many now) Helpful votes and 8 Unhelpful votes. I clicked Helpful and that number DROPPED to 8. Just for the hell of it, I clicked the Unhelpful vote for another one-star, negative review and THAT INCREMENTED the vote count UP, as expected. WHAT THE HELL?! And we are supposed to believe that the IMDB ratings are not being manipulated?!

On which titles and which reviews have you observed this behaviour? Is it still happening now?

Not exclusively but especially when I filter the ratings (for example: filter to only 5 stars ratings) The liked/dislikes numbers are miscounted and I see that I am assigned the disliked button (it is grey) for all the reviews, without me actually doing anything. When I click on the like to fix it, the likes/dislikes counting changes totally, not even sure which one is the right counting. For example. Now I am in The Other Guys (2010) user reviews, reading this specific review: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386588/reviews/?item=rw2291850&ref_=ext_shr_lnk It shows 196 likes (AKA helpful) and 21 dislikes (AKA not helpful) It also shows that I disliked the review [I didn't] Now, when I mark this review as helpful, the count changed: Helpful: 32 Not Helpful: 47
Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled likes and dislikes not miscounted for user reviews
