which dates should be used?

Which is the preferred release date to be used?

I noticed that some series have both a weekly release and a complete series release on an online platform.

Series 2 of the UK drama "After the Flood" had episode #2.1 broadcast on the UK ITV channel on Sunday 18 January 2026, with episode #2.2 to be shown on Monday 19 January 2026.

Episodes #2.3 & #2.4 will be broadcast on Sunday 25 January 2026 & Monday 26 January 2026 and episodes #2.5 & #2.6 on the Sunday 1 February 2026 & Monday 2 February 2026.

The complete series was also released on the ITV online platform on Sunday 18 January 2026.

Which release date should be used when creating a page for each episode?

When submitting the episodes I think it is best to use the TV dates.

The streaming dates can also be added, but adding them correctly requires an attribute field, which unfortunately does not exist in the episode addition page.

@Peter_pbn Shouldn't the world premiere date always take precedence? If all episodes were first released on January 18 that's the date that should show in the episode guide display.

@Zutroy

I think the best case in this scenario is that once the episodes are listed, the streaming date is also added to each episode. Then I think IMDb does tend to display the earlier streaming date in the episode guide.

Alternatively, if the streaming date is used when adding the episode, then the TV date can still be added later, and the streaming date ought to be corrected, selecting the streaming attribute (internet).
