When a TV show repackages episodes to a different series, how to list episodes when they already have a listing under a different name?

So when a TV show re-airs and repackages episodes to a differently titled series, how do we list the episodes when they already have a listing under a different series name?

Franklin: Please provide the details about what was the original series, what was the new series, and what episodes are involved in this situation. That will make it easier for the staff and/or contributors to advise you.

There is a Canadian show "The Detectives" which aired on CDC network in Canada in 2018.  Well there is ANOTHER show called "The Cases which Haunt me" which airs (Streaming) on Investigation Discovery Channel.  Though the producers are the same, I noticed that "the Cases which Haunt Me" have recycled and repackaged a few complete episodes that were previously aired on "The Detectives".  Being an anthology series, with stand alone episodes detailing specific crimes, I wonder.  Do we make full episode listings for BOTH shows?  Knowing that at least half a dozen of the episodes are ALREADY listed under a different titled TV show?  I was trying to complete the whole season of "The Case that Haunts Me" until I realized that I was looking at IDENTICAL episodes that were already listed on IMDB under the different series "The Detectives".    I can list all the 'duplicate episodes' in another post, but I ask "What is the standard protocol from IMDB when this happens?"  Do we list the episodes TWICE? One for each show that aired them?  This scenario MUST have happened before in TV history, but I don't know how IMDB deals with it. :D  Thanks so much for your help!! :D

For example, in Season one of "The Detectives" There are 5 episodes which were also shown in Season ONE of  'The Cases that Haunt Me" but on a different platform and later in the year.  (Project HitchHiker) (Trick or Treat) (Burning Season) (Stranger Calling) (She Said).    The other episodes seem to be original and not aired on the other show (and vice versa).

Hello?  Does ANYONE know what I'm asking?  Is there any confusion?

Based on the info it sounds something to be added to the Alternate Version section.

Franklin Johnston,

As you mentioned, "The Detectives" aired on CBC and was retitled "The Case that Haunts Me" on ID (Investigation Discovery).

At least for season 1, the story descriptions are similar or close to similar. The only difference is that some of the episode titles are different, as well as the episode order.

For example:

CBC:
The Wells Gray Gunman (#1.1)
Canadian premiere: Jan. 10, 2018

ID:
Murder 'Round the Campfire (#1.8)
U.S. premiere: Dec. 27, 2018

Similar story descriptions, different episode titles and different episode order.

Episode descriptions pages: CBC, Investigation Discovery

Please wait for a response from an IMDb representative on this matter.

For the reps, these are the IMDb TV show titles in question.

"The Detectives" (2018)
"The Case That Haunts Me" (2018)

Thanks, but "the Cases that Haunt Me" are airing NEW episodes that weren't on "The Detectives"  (we're talking season ONE for the purposes of this thread).  But I need IMDB's guidance on how to proceed.  I KNOW the difference between the episodes, I watched ALL of them and took notes to complete their pages, but since the production company is RECYCLING episodes for a different series, I am still in need of IMDB's guidance on how to list them.  Do I list them TWICE? Once for the Detectives? and then another time for "The Case that Haunts me?"   I want to populate the series pages and complete the episode guides, but I don't know how to proceed.

Apologies for the delay you are correct. I've also cut a ticket to get it added to the episode guide now.

So, WHAT is the policy?  What is a shell rule when it comes to Episodes?  I checked the episode guide and didn't find anything regarding the shell rules

If you follow the link where Phil G says it's discussed (just above Will's response), it's the last item under A. General notes.
