What criteria does IMDB employ in the selection of a film/tv series cover image?

There are numerous poster designs for a single film/series, but ultimately, a single cover image is selected for IMDB to display. What criteria and considerations does IMDB have that govern the process of choosing a definitive image?

Hello cinarberfu,

According to our Help Article, for movies and TV series the most iconic and widely-recognized poster, of the best image quality. For TV series preferably from the original airing of the first season. I encourage you to take a look at the Help article for more detailed explanation.
