WGA locked writing credits of Roman Holiday (1953) are incorrect

The "correct" writing credits of Roman Holiday (1953) should be:

Dalton Trumbo                                                     (screenplay by)  (1,1,1)

Ian McLellan Hunter                                             (screenplay by)  (1,2,1)

John Dighton                                                       (screenplay by)  (1,3,1)

Dalton Trumbo                                                     (story by)          (2,1,1)

Please note that the screen credits have been changed from what they were originally. This case was discussed here:

They are not incorrect. They recognize the very complicated history of these credits and the restoration of the correct credits while recognizing these weren't the "original" credits.

@adrian You & I both know that when it comes to blacklisted writers, "original" credits are not "actual" credits.

If WGA can correct themselves, why not IMDb??? (who uses WGA as a source)

Hi @maninasuit -

It has been our longstanding policy to list credits based on what was shown on-screen on the original release of the title.  For older titles, specifically where writers were blacklisted and later warranted an on-screen credit, our policy is to list those credits with the attribute "(originally uncredited)".
