Wardrobe Designer

Which section should 'Wardrobe Designer' go in?

I'm no expert of what the difference between Wardrobe Designer and Costume Designer is, I'd have thought it goes in Costume Department but it seems there is not a ton of credits with that job title and at least one crew member with that title, keeps adding themselves to the Costume Designer section sans an accurate attribute. So are they in the wrong?

Not sure whether to remove those credits or correct them, some advice would help greatly.

Thanks.

Hi @VonPunk -

I can confirm that a "Wardrobe Designer" credit is eligible to be listed under the "Costume Designer" category.

Cheers!

I would assume this is a Costume Designer credit. What is weird is that it is called "Costume and Wardrobe Department". Seems like it should also be "Costume and Wardrobe Designers"

@adrian That's fair thinking, and that it's just the way it's worded that creates a difference but the grey area in my mind, is that the credits of this type I see are always on low budget programs with recreations with a feeling that nothing was actually designed or made for it but who knows, they could've bought some cheap material and ran up some clothes on a machine to look like peoples clothes in real life photos and footage. I can only guess without talking to someone who does the job but at least one person with this credit is adding themselves as such sometimes with up to 3 credits per episode, so it probably leaning that way haha

Though if IMDb fall that way of them being the same, they should consider a "Costume and Wardrobe Designers" renaming, as you say.
